CTMH Warmest Wishes & Mason Jar Bouquet Christmas Card

CTMH Warmest Wishes & Mason Jar Bouquet Christmas Card

I wanted to try and make an Art Deco mason jar Christmas card. I did not want to use the snow globe stamp & die. I first die cut the mason jar three times to have a sturdy base for the jar. I used a blending brush to add a hint of blue color. I stamped the palm tree and flamingo and fussy cut them. Next I embossed the base stamp of the Warmest Wishes snow globe in silver embossing powder. I had to trim the base to fit the mason jar opening. I spattered a clear and silver glitter brush to make faux snow on the jar. To add more glitz I added small snowflakes. To finish the card I used a small dot embossing folder and added two silver shimmer trim.

I never have made a card with so many silhouette figures on it. I really like how it turned out and was easy to stamp and die cut. To make the sky I masked off the bottom and I lightly blended the Tumbled Glass Oxide ink over the top. Next I used my homemade cloud stencil to finish up the clouds. Hero Arts Color Layering Octopus Cards

I just got texture paste and wanted to try it on a stencil. First I put ink down on craft mat and then added glob of texture paste next to each three inks with a plastic craft palette knife. I mixed the texture paste with the ink and played around with how dark I wanted to add more color which I did. I picked up individual colored texture paste and smooth it over the stencil. You must clean the palette knife when changing colors. I then used a texture pasted spreader to even out the paste on the cardstock. The photo does not show the raised dimension of the texture paste.

I first embossed the School of Fish with Versamark and Blueprint Sketch  Distress Oxide Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I die cut three portholes, glued them together and embossed with gold embossing powder.  Next I used my Spectrum Noir Tri Blend markers to color my images. I have been under the weather for a week now so this card took 5 days to complete. The ocean is a  layer stamp and it takes several coats of  Distress Oxide Ink to the first layer. Hero Arts July 2020 Kit Card

I made another card from the kit and this time I used the Teal Glitter Sticker Paper which was included with the kit. It was hard to take a photo because of the shine but hubby persisted and got a good photo. I ran into a problem with first card I made because I die cut the image and the hybrid ink was not completely dry. The tape to hold down the die stuck to the paper and removed some of the ink. Yikes! So I was not going to wait so long to dry so I stamped the reef image on almond cardstock. It was a lot easier that way.

To make this card I used:

Stamps: Hero Arts July 2020 Kit

Paper: CTMH Whisper White and Almond Cardstock

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black Ink, CTMH White Daisy Pigment Ink, Taffy, Key Lime Pie, Pool Party, Splash and Blue Hawaii Hero Arts Reactive Ink which were included with the kit

Avery Elle Hello Chum Card

I made this card for my grandson and I hope he likes it. I saw Jessica Frost-Ballas video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqZ1ySzgRL4  I tried to copy it her method with the sunray stencil but it was a flop because I made the upper part of the card too dark. I used my  glitter marker on them to create some sparkle.

To make this card I used:

Stamps: Avery Elle Hello Chum

Paper: Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Cardstock

Ink: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink, Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and Spectrum Noir Tri Blend Markers

Accessories: Versamark Stamp Pad, Ranger Clear Embossing Powder, MFT Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil, Tim Holtz Blender Tool, Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Marker, Pilot Black Gel Pen

Kitchen Sink Stamps Palm Trees Card

I was using my two new stamp sets and came up with this beach scene card. It is hard to condition a solid stamp to do the ocean but I persevered by using a white eraser on the stamps. I then used Versamark pad with my Distress Oxide Ink Pads and stamped a bunch of times letting the ink dry before attempting to stamp again. The palm trees are a layering stamp and they are easy to do.

To make this card I used:

Stamps: Kitchen Sink Stamp Tropical Island Swaying Palm Trees, Papertrey Ink Text & Texture Ocean, Stampendous Ocean Wisdom, Hero Arts Color Layering Sea & Sky and Papertrey Ink Fence Line Summer

Paper: CTMH Whisper White and Toffee Cardstock

Ink: CTMH Toffee Exclusive Ink, Versafine Onyx Black Ink, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink, Mermaid Lagoon, Twisted Citrus, Mowed Lawn, Forest Moss, Tea Dye, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap Distress Ink

Simon Says Your Light Card

I just got this new stamp set from Simon Stamps that I love Your Light. It has a lot of nautical stamps which are card sized. First I stamped the cards and colored them with my Spectrum Noir Tri Blend Markers and then I added CTMH Liquid Glass to give it some shine. I used a Pink & Main blender brush to make the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink and then used a homemade cloud stencil on the sky background to darken up the cloud edges. I really like how it turned out. To make the ocean I used a Hero Arts Waves Stencil using Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and then covered it the with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I used foam dots  and foam strip to pop up the ocean and the other elements of the card. I finished it with CTMH Shimmer Brush on some of the ocean waves.

To make this card I used:

Stamps: Simon Says You Light, Stampendous Ocean Wisdom and Papertrey Inks Fence Line Summer

Paper: CTMH Whisper White Cardstock and Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Cardstock

I used the clouds stamps from Color Layering Sea & Sky but stamped them on the back side to make an island chain. To make the sand I used Hero Arts Sand Embossing Powder and heated it from the  underside of the card to get a nicer looking sandy beach. I finished off the waves with a clear shimmer brush.

Hero Arts Monthly Kit July 2020 Card

I got my first My Monthly Hero Arts Kit and Lover the Variety of Item included. I am so happy they included five reactive ink colors. I found that you need to use hybrid ink for the solid stamps so they will print evenly. For the large stamps I first use Versamark Pad and then I inked up with ink. The Versamark Pad does not charge the color of the ink.

To make this card I used:

Stamps: Hero Arts Monthly Kit July 2020

Paper: CTMH Whisper White Cardstock, CTMH Vellum Paper and Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Cardstock

Inks: Taffy, Key Lime Fizz, Splash and Blue Hawaii Hero Arts Reactive Inks and Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink

Accessories: CTMH Silver Loose Sequins, CTMH Bitty Sparkles, Clear Wink of Stella Pen and Scotch 1/2 in. Double Sided Foam Tape

Hero Arts Color Layering Waves Card

I got this new stamp set and made this beach scene card this afternoon. I am keeping myself busy because my pain level has raised with the coming tropical storm Isaias which is heading to Florida. I sure hope we do not take a direct hit from the storm. I used the Sand embossing power for the sand and White embossing powder for the sea foam. The sea foam was created by using a Versamark Pen along the edge and then dotted above to make is look real. The sky is Distress ink applied with Pink & Main Blending tool. I wanted to make a sunrise with a very soft color ink. The picture of  the card does not show that I popped up the ocean waves and used shimmer marker on them and the edge of the rising sun.

To make this card I used:

Stamps: Hero Arts Color Layering Waves and Papertrey Ink Fence Line Summer

Paper: CTMH Whisper White and Black Cardstock, Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Paper

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Pool Party, Splash and Blue Hawaii Hero Arts Reactive Inks, Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink

Accessories: Stamp of Life Stitched Circle Dies, Versamark Pen and Pad, Ranger White Embossing Powder, Hero Arts Sand Embossing Powder, Pink & Main Blender Brush, Wink of Stella Clear Embossing Brush Marker and Scotch 1/2 in. Double Sided Foam Tape
Papertrey Ink Fence Line Summer Card

I love to make layered cards because they show so much dimension. I first used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to make the sky with my new Pink & Main blender brush. To make the sand I used Antique Linen Distress ink with the blender brush because it creates a soft shade of color. To finish the sand I used CTMH Pebble on the sand stamp. I popped the card up with craft foam. I then stamped my images and die cut them out. The Fence Line Summer stamp and dies makes a lovely beach scene.

To make this card I used:

Stamps: Papertrey Fence Line Summer and  Hero Arts Color Layering Sea & Sky

Paper: CTMH Whisper White, Charcoal Cardstock and Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Paper

Ink: CTMH Mink,  Pebble, Pewter and Sweet Leaf Exclusive Inks, Antique Linen, Tattered , Mustard Seed and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and Versafine Onyx Black

Papertrey Ink Fence Line Summer Card

I just got this new stamp Fence Line Summer and had to try it out on a one layer card. I decided to use CTMH Kraft Cardstock and I had never stamped on it. I didn't know that the ink colors change when you use it. You can not see the wood lines on the post. So lesson learned and I won't make that mistake again.

To make this card I used:

Stamps: Papertrey Ink Fence Line Summer and Hero Arts Color Layering Sea & Sky

Paper: CTMH Whisper White and CTMH Kraft Paper

CTMH Palm Paradise Bargello Card

I saw a video by Sandy Zimmer and wanted to try the Bargello technique using several different colors of green inks. After blending the ink stripes you cut the into 1/2 inch strip and glue down on the backing paper. You can do it in any size but you must use cardstock longer than the base cardstock. It is easy to stagger the strips and glue them down. Here is the link to Sandy Zimmer Video:

CTMH Wildlife Puns Card

I watched a video tutorial on how to make mini envelopes and had to try to make them. You start with a 2 x 2 patterned paper and find the center and then fold the side flaps in to the center. The bottom of the envelop you fold up at 5/8 inch and add a small fold on the tip. You finish by rounding the corner with a punch. Tip: Before gluing the mini envelope punch the rounded corner. It was very easy to do.  I found the tutorial at Laura's Creative Pages and Cards and here is the link with video:
