Gina K Flowers For You Easter Card

Gina K Flowers For You Easter Card

I made this card for my sweet 93 year old mother-in-law. She has been in lock down at her retirement home and has been very lonely. I thought this card would cheer her up and put a smile on her face. I used watercolor pencils and a small round paint brush to color the flowers and leaves. I used a dotted embossing folder on the white background and placed orange sequins around the flowers. I popped up the flowers and the sentiment.

To make this card I used:

Stamp: Gina K Flowers For You and CTMH Easter Bunny

Paper: Neenah #80 and #110 Crest Solar White and CTMH Nectarine and Black Cardstock

Gina K Flowers For You Card

Gina K Flowers For You Card

I watched a Gina K video called ink blending and Prismacolor Pencils. Here is the link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYKH-Kwvpwc

I thought this was an easy technique to learn so I am trying it for the first time. I embossed the stamp using Versamark pad and white embossing powder. I used a blender brush and applied blue ink lightly just over the stamped image. Then I colored the flowers and leaves with a darker shade of blue. This is so easy and quick card to make.

Gina K Flowers For You Card

Gina K Flowers For You Card

I wanted to try something new to me so I made a card using Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I was surprised at how easy it is do and I only used five colors of Prismacolor Pencils. I stamped my image in black ink and then colored all the flowers blue. I outlined each flower and the flower fold lines. I wanted the center of the flowers to be a darker blue so I scribbled blue in the middle and flicked the pencil towered the end of the petal. I wet my stumps with Gamsol and made small circle to blend the color. At the end I went over the petal fold. For the leaves I did the same thing but with green. I used brown for the stems and added white gel pen dots of the stamen. I finished the card by adding blue sequins and popped up the sentiment.
